About MYOB Software
MYOB named after the well know acronym Mind Your Own Business was first introduced to the Australian marketplace in the early 1980s. MYOB quickly established a large customer base and became a dominant force in the small business accounting software space.
With consumers having a very limited number of alternatives at that point, Quickbooks, Reckon and Cash Flow Manager being 3 of the most popular. The software was able to become the long term leader in the Australian market and relatively unchallenged until after the early 2000s.
Fast forward from the 80s until now and MYOB's product has eveolved substantially, but what has remained unchanged is MYOB still being amongst the leaders in the industry. However, there are a much larger number of alternatives in the small business marketplace today.
MYOB offers three main products today - MYOB Accountright, MYOB Accountedge for MAC and MYOB Essentials. MYOB Accountright is one of the only products to offer both online and offline access to your accounting file via their product MYOB Accountright.
